Bill Harris is a fifth generation Texan who first moved to Paris in 1998. A graduate of Midwestern State University and St. Mary’s School of law, Bill has practiced law for 21 years in both civil and criminal courts, primarily in the areas of criminal law, juvenile law, family law and general civil litigation. He is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court and is admitted to practice in all Texas courts as well as federal court in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Bill’s professional accomplishments include Board Certifications in Criminal Law and in Juvenile Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Bill currently serves as First Assistant County Attorney for Lamar County Texas. Â
Bill lives in Paris with his wife Stephanie, an attorney in private practice and Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Paris, and their two boys, Billy (aged 14) and Colin (aged 11), who attend school in the Paris Independent School District.
In addition to his extensive courtroom experience, Bill is an active member of the Lamar County community. He is an active volunteer in the Paris Youth Soccer Association serving as Secretary and Legal Advisor. Bill belongs to the Paris Kiwanis Club and the Lamar County Republican Party. He serves as Chairman of the Building and Standards Commission and Vice-Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Paris, as well as the Lamar County Appraisal Review Board of Directors.  Bill is a member of the Leadership Lamar County Class of 2009-2010.
